The shapes created by figures and the play of light on skin colour are visually exciting, allowing endless possibilities with composition. I build the colour slowly in layers, – or throw it on fast as an expression of the moment. Recently, I have begun to leave the layers more exposed, so that the hatching and crosshatching are revealed, and the ground colour is still just visible. I am trying to give the feeling of the “vibration” of colours I see, the vibrancy of a living being.
